Abstract:
The hotel industry is considered one of the most competitive markets in Thailand. In this study, the author focuses on a business model for a romantic hotel named Moonlight Hotel. To meet the needs of target customers of the niche market in the romantic hotel industry, Moonlight Hotel offers rooms of various styles with a dynamic pricing. The location of the project is in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani province near Talaad Thai Market, which is one of the most famous wholesale food markets in Thailand. Travelling is also convenient with only a 30-minute drive to Don Mueang Airport. This study describes the business model of the Moonlight Hotel. Taking into account both external and internal environments, the study explains the rationales behind the business and its implementation, providing guidelines for marketing, operations, and feasibility management. The project requires an initial investment of THB 36,428,500 in total with a 45.1:54.9 ratio of own equity to borrowe capital from financial institutions. According to the projects strategy and peer comparison, the base case forecast of the projects performance assumes a positive cash flow in the third operation year. In addition, the project estimates a positive NPV of around 79 million and an IRR of 17 percent while aiming to pay back within seven years
