Abstract: Introduction: An ergonomic assessment tool is the key element to identify risk factor(s) and be able to recommend organization for further risk reduction. An appropriate tool that can cover most of risk factors presented in workplace is necessitated. Objective of the study: The study aimed to develop a new ergonomic observational assessment tool for repetitive task (RTRA) that can prioritize risk reduction action. Material and method: The research was divided into 3 phases ; the first phase was development of new assessment tool ; the second phase was tool evaluation in contents of biomechanical, physical, work environment and psychosocial risk factor by 7 ergonomic experts and the third phase was Intra-rater and inter-rater reliability and validity test of the tool by researcher and 9 Thai practitioners to assess 30 repetitive tasks. Result: The Item-Objective Congruence Index (IOC) validated 20 items on usability of each step of the RTRA, 1st prototype was found between 0.64 to 0.93. The RTRA was improved based on expert’s suggestions and refined to 2nd prototype. The examination of Intra-rater reliability test was conducted, and overall intra-rater reliability was 0.932 (95% CI: 0.862-0.967). The examination of Inter-rater test was conducted and found overall inter-rater reliability was 0.956 (95% CI: 0.909-0.978. The RTRA was then reviewed by Thai practitioner’s and through their feedback, consensus, and suggestions the RTRA prototype was refined. The refinements resulted in a clearer posture illustration while other contents were had no changes recommended. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the RTRA tool can be used to assess ergonomics risk of repetitive tasks
