Abstract:
This research purposes were to study personal factors and motivation of dental students, the students expectations and satisfaction of teaching management in the Doctor of Dental Surgery program, and to determine factors related to the expectations of the program. Populations of this study were students enrolled in Doctor of Dental Surgery program, University of Phayao. Results showed that majority of the students were female whose parents are government officer or state enterprise officer. The personal motivation for choosing this program was a need of stable career. Institutional factors were competent staffs and good environment. The expectations of the program are that, when graduate, students will have morality and responsibility for patients care and able to plan dental treatment, manage dental emergencies and complications. The factors that satisfied student the most were friendly staffs followed by respectable instructors. Factors which concurrent with students expectations stated that academic year related to the expected standards of learning outcomes on morality, ethics and knowledge. Domicile related to expected standards of learning outcomes on numerical analysis, the usage of technology, aesthetical arts and environments. Whereas personal and institutional motivations corresponded to expected standards of learning outcomes and environmental factors in personnel and services.
