Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to study the cultural identity appearing in Akha story telling in Akha Chiang Rai Province by studying 39 telling stories of Akha from three villages: Pang Pu Loei village, Pasang sub-district, Saensuk village, Srikam sub-district, Mae Chan district and Apha Pattana village in Mae Yao sub-district, Muang district. On the cultural identity, three aspects were found: 1) The culture of rice and animal husbandry displaying upland rice farming and chicken and pork husbandry was mostly found in the stories. 2) The social and family culture reflecting Akha society and culture identity relating to father-mother and children type and sibling type was found. And 3) For the belief in the birth of nature and supernatural power,the content of the most Akha tales reflected the cultural identity inherited from on cestuses to the next generation.
