Abstract:
The research aimed to study the factors which influenced the competency of the school administrators in Ubon Ratchathani province. The competency of the administrators was crucial and necessary to the administration and management lead ing to the school effectiveness. At present, it was deemed essential for the school administrators to have the administrative competency to make their s chools perform effectively and achieve the set goals. Upon the schools success, an achievement of learners who could effectively read, write and critically think. They could develop desirable characteristics as stipulated by the Ministry of Education. The learners, who were well-equipped, served as valuable resources of the country. The samples used in the study were 480 primary school administrators in Ubon Ratchathani province, derived by simple random sampling. The research instrument was a five-rating scale questionnaire with a confidence value ranging from 0.84 to 0.96. Basic statistics and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze data. The research found that the factors which could influence the school administrators competency with statistical significance of 0.05 were: achievement-oriented organizational culture, organizational commitment, relations with communities, and special talents. The suppor tive factors from the organization had no influence the school administrators competency. This presented the value of a multiple co-relational co-efficient equivalent to 0.850. Variables could predict the competency leading to educational excellence by 70.80%.
