Abstract:
The purposes of this study were 1) to develop the reading plans by using the SQ3R method for students in Mathayomsueksa 3 with a required efficiencyof 80/80, 2) to find out effectiveness indices of the reading plans by using the SQ3R method, and 3) to compare reading achievement before and after using theSQ3R method. The sample used in this study consisted of 40 Mathayomsueksa3/1 students attending Khwaoraisuksa School Mahasarakham Province in the second semester of the academic year 2011, obtained using the cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were 7 reading learning plans by using the SQ3R method, a 40-item 4-choice reading achievement test with difficulties ranging 0.25 - 0.80, the discriminating powers ranging 0.28 - 0.72 and a reliability of 0.84. The statistics used for analyzing the collected data were percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test. (Dependent samples) was employedfor testing hypotheses.
