Abstract:
This article aims to study and understand "Huan Hin" or castle of Savannakhetprovince in a general feature, style and the age of the Huan Hin. The study found thatthe general feature of Huan Hin in Savannakhet province in present, the main Prang,which is the most important building, should have the same building plan as a generalKhmer castle. It has four porches extended on all four sides of the building and 11the building facing east and turn back to Mekong River. It might has a Gopura entrance arch on the west according to beliefs of building a large religious place, which usually has a entrance arch on all four directions. Due to the small amount of evidence objectsfound in Huan Hin, also the relocation of the evidence objects from its original location,and the extension of the Huan Hin building in order to use for others purposes causedthe incomplete information. However the important pieces of evidence object couldbe used to deduce and imply from style of the Huan Hin that is the religious buildingof Brahman and Hinduism, Shivism Sect. The art style is the Late Baphuon  the EarlyAngkor Wat around 1650  1700 B.C., contemporary with the castle to find a lot in theNortheast.
