Development of the Learning Activities of Multiple Intelligences Theory to Support Critical Thinking Entitled Technology (Design and Technology 1) Grade 9 in E-Learning
Abstract:
In E-learning system, multi-cognitive activities that support the effective promotion of critical thinking in line with essential skills in the 21st century. The researcher was interested in transforming the traditional learning process into a learning activity model based on the theory of multiple intelligences to enhance critical thinking skills through E-learning media. This research aimed 1) To develop learning activities, 2) To study the correlation between learning activity patterns, and learning achievement, 3) To study the correlation between learning activity patterns and critical thinking skill, and 4) To survey the satisfaction after using a series of learning activities. The population were 108 students who were studying in Grade 9, Demonstration School University of Phayao. Sample Radom Sampling was used to select 20 students. Research instruments used in this research were 1) E-learning lessons for promoting critical thinking and Elearning lessons for regular learning, 2) Pre-test and Post-test, 3) A critical thinking test, and 4) Satisfaction survey. Chi-Square test (levels of significance at 0.05), average, standard deviation, dependent values, T-test dependent, and correlation test were used to analyze data. The results revealed that; 1) The activities based on technology design process are correlated to academic achievement were the most correlation, the correlation coefficient = 10.77, C = 0.59 2.Learning activity patterns promoting critical thinking are correlated to learning activity patterns for regular learning , the correlation coefficient = 13.33, C = 0.63 3.The students who studied with the multiple intelligence had the highest logic intelligence at an average score of 3.35, based on the multiple intelligence score, 4) The satisfaction survey was at a high level with average level at 4.66 and standard deviation at 0.16. In summary, the learning activity patterns promoting critical thinking skill based on multiple intelligence theory are correlated to learning achievement and critical thinking skill. This was contributed to learning achievement in which post-test scores are higher than pre-test scores. Therefore, the students were able to use their potential for study and to succeed their goals.
