The Development of Analytical Thinking Skill by Using the Flipped Classroom Activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh Subject for Immediate Islamic Studies Stage Students, Year 1
Abstract:
This research aimed: 1) to develop and find the effectiveness of the learning management plans by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject for the immediate Islamic studies stage students, year 1 according to the standard criteria 80/80 2) to compare the students achievement before and after instruction by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject 3) to develop critical thinking skills before and after instruction by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject 4) to evaluate the students' satisfaction towards learning by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject. The sample consisted of 25 students who studied in immediate Islamic studies stage students, year 1, semester 2 of the academic year 2020, at Prasanwit Islamic School, which selected by purposive sampling. The research tools consisted of 1) 8 lession plans for developing analytical thinking skills by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject 2) 40 items of the achievement test on the history of the four Caliphs which consisted of four-choices. 3) 16 subjective tests for analytical thinking skills in al-Tarikh subject on the history of the four Caliphs 4) a questionnaire of the students satisfaction towards learning by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject on the history of the four Caliphs. Data was analyzed using mean, standard deviation and T-Test score.
The research findings were as following:
1. The effectiveness of the learning management plans by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject for the immediate Islamic studies stage students, year 1 was equal to 82.18/83.20, which higher than standard criteria 80/80.
2. The students achievement by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject after instruction was higher than before instruction at 23.20/33.44
3. The critical thinking skills after instruction by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject was higher than before instruction at 64.08/84.48
4. The students satisfaction towards learning by using flipped classroom activities through YouTube in al-Tarikh subject was at higher level at 4.20
