Abstract:
This research is a descriptive research at a certain point of time, which aims at studying the relations between personal information, knowledge, attitude, oral health care behavior, and oral health condition on a quality of life in oral health area of the patients with type 2 diabetes in Chedi Kham Sub-district. The research sample of 159 people were from simple random sampling, of which data were collected by questionnaire divided into 4 sections, which were section 1 general information, section 2 oral health care behavior test, section 3 Interview form for the quality of life in oral health, and section 4 survey form for oral health condition of the patients with type 2 diabetes. Reliability of the questionnaire calculated by Kuder- Richardson 20: K-R20 formula was 0.76, and calculated by Cronbachs alpha coefficient was 0.771, 0.759 respectively. The relations between personal information, knowledge, attitude, oral health care behavior, and oral health condition on the quality of life in oral health area of the patients with type 2 diabetes were analyzed by Chi-square test. The result of study on relations between personal information, knowledge, attitude, oral health care behavior, and oral health condition on the quality of life in oral health area shows that factors of age, educational background, period of diabetes, knowledge, attitude, oral health care behavior, a number of teeth, having artificial teeth, dental caries, periodontal disease were in relation to the quality of life in oral health area with a statistical significance level of 0.05 (p-value = 0.003, p-value = 0.04, p-value = 0.043, p-value = 0.001, p-value = 0.001, p-value = 0.001, p-value = 0.001, p-value = 0.023, p-value = 0.001 and p-value = 0.001, respectively)
