Abstract:
This research aims to (1) study about the storytelling of Peranakan culture in the Andaman Cluster Province (2) to present story of the tourism map follow by the Peranakan in Andaman Cluster province culture (3) to present the narrative tactics of Peranakan culture to boost tourism linking in the Andaman cluster. It is qualitative research by using multiple methods, which is the researcher gathers the data by using triangulation verified technique by collecting the data from 3 sources as following, (1) Gathering the data from documentary, is a sample group of the document that related to Peranakan culture total number of sample group was 79 documents (2) Data collection from in-depth interview, is a sample group of people who involved in the Peranakan culture narrative, total number of sample group was 35 people (3) Data collection from non-participant observation, sample group is the place where has vestiges of Peranakan culture, total number of sample group was 117 places. The research discovered that (1) the narrative process storyteller found lack of new generation storyteller to share the story of Peranakan culture and preserve the culture, On the story side found that lack of presenting the story that indicated the true identity of Peranakan culture. On the storytelling found lack of various channels to share the story and its inconsistency. On the receiver aspect found that the perception of Peranakan culture is scoped. (2) The uniqueness of Peranakan can be classified into 2 main categories: including the history of the Peranakan ethnic group and the story of Peranakan life. Also found that the true identity of Peranakan culture is Cultural integration between Chinese, Malay, Europe, and Thai cultures by bringing the good points of each culture together, these uniqueness can expressed through food, clothes, architecture, beliefs and traditions of Peranakan people in Andaman Cluster province. (3) The presentation of tourist attractions based on Peranakan culture that passed the evaluation quality standard has 83 places, divided into Ranong province 8 places, Phang Nga province 15 places, Phuket province 34 places, Krabi province 8 places, Trang province 14 places, and Satun province 4 places. (4) The proposal of Peranakan storytelling strategy to promote tourism linking the Andaman cluster route such as DIBUK ROUTE strategy D: Defend your roots strategy; encourage the data gathering about Peranakan culture in every aspect, whether its history, architecture, food, clothes, traditions, beliefs, languages, occupations, local arts, including history of Peranakan culture places to include all provinces in Andaman cluster province, also support to build a center or learning institute in every area. I: Identify your identities identify Peranakan cultural identity to show the true uniqueness of Peranakan culture including the strength of each Peranakan places. B: Build Peranakan contents enhance the level of creating content to be interesting for other to follow and can stimulate the target audience to change some behavior. U: Utilize to key target decides a narrative channel which is suitable for the created content and the up-to-date channel that can communicate with the key target audience (K: Key target) to encourage the target audience to Read (R: Read stories) Open your heart (O: Open your heart) story presented, a group of Peranakan descendants Know the origin of their own (U: Understand yourself), A group of tourists Interested in Peranakan culture (T: Think about Peranakan culture) Enthusiastic (E: Enthused) a group of Peranakan descendants realized the value of cultural capital and returned to inheritance, and also the tourist group wanting to travel along the Peranakan culture.
