Effect of Risk Management in Government Fiscal Management Information System on Quality of Financial Report: The Case of North Eastern Administrative Agencies
Abstract:
This research aims to study the effect of risk management in government fiscal management information system (GFMIS) on quality of financial reports in Northeastern Administrative Agencies. The risk management in GFMIS consists of two dependent variables which were 1) risk management in term of general control and 2) risk management in term of work processes that affected the quality of financial reports. The questionnaires were used to collect the data from 334 places where the government budgets have been disbursed through the GFMIS system of Provincial Treasurys Office, respondents were financial executive positions who were responsible for accounting information system in GFMIS in the Northeastern Administrative Agencies. By Stratified Random Sampling and using the questionnaire to analyze the data with descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation. And multiple regression to analyze the data. The number of 278 respondents sent questionnaires back representing 83.23%.
The research results reveal that the risk management in term of both general control and work processes associated positively and significantly with the quality of financial reports of the Northeastern Administrative Agencies. Hence, the executives and others who are relevant key stakeholders can utilize this research findings for constructing a guideline to modify and develop risk management in GFMIS, resulting in improvement of financial reporting quality.
