The Effects of Dental Health Education Program on The Effective of Dental Caries Prevention Among Primary School Students, Wiang Subdistrict, Chiangkham District, Phayao Province
Abstract:
This quasi-experimental research was performed to study The Effects of Dental Health Education Program on Dental Caries Prevention Behavior among Primary School Students, Wiang Subdistrict, Chiangkham District, Phayao Province. The samples consisted of 59 students; 34 students as experiment group were educated dental health based on perceived self-efficacy of Bandura and 25 students were assigned as a control group. Data were collected by questionnaire and dental plaque recording. The statistics used for analyzing data were Paired samples t-test, and Independent samples t-test. The results revealed that after getting dental health in experiment group the mean of knowledge, perceived self-efficacy, outcome expectation and dental caries prevention behavioral were significantly higher than before (p < 0.05). Additionally, the mean score of dental plaque was significantly lower than before (p < 0.05). Comparing to the control group, the mean scores of knowledge, perceived self-efficacy, outcome expectation and dental caries prevention behavioral of the experimental group were higher and mean score of dental plaque of the experimental group was significantly lower (p < 0.05).
