Abstract:
The procurement process of construction materials between contractor and small size supplier in Prachin Buri provice reflects the supply chain that is diverse and unique. This is resulted from a non-permanent form and a working process that has no absolute typical processes. The retail trade which the small amount of quantity in each transaction is found from this case study. The activities in the transaction process is found somewhat limit, particularly, in the phase of information flow, after studying the supply chain of cement, rebar, and lightweigh concrete brick. Moreover, the type of material and its packaging directly affected the time employed in the material flow phase. The analysis of the critical path method, which considered the sequence and relationship among activites that each party performed, revealed that the amount of time that the contractors and supplier employed in the phase of material flow are increased. In regard to the constrains which the processes carried out and restrictions of the time from each party which influences the operations of the relevant party, therefore, the information from this technique analysis can be used to improve (time decreasing) the existing material supply chain
