Abstract:
This quantitative research aims to survey transformational leadership and employee creativity, to confirm the factors of the transformational leadership and employee creativity, to analyze influences of transformational leadership on employee creativity and to offer a causal model of the relationship between transformational leadership on employee creativity in automotive parts industry. The sample groups were 400 employees in operational level in automotive parts industry. Questionnaire was used to collect data. Frequency distribution, percentage, average, standard deviation, confirmation factor analysis and structural equation model were used to analyze data. The result found that transformational leadership in automotive parts industry consists of 6 factors: specifying and presenting vision, being an appropriate model, encouraging the acceptance of public goals, expecting excellent performance, supporting individual, and motivating intellectual usage. Employee creativity consists of 13 factors: introducing new approach for target accomplishment, suggesting idea and taking action for productivity improvement, finding the way or new process of work whenever seeing an opportunity, suggesting new approach to colleagues and develop to increase work quality, being a good source of creativity, determining risks and cautiously applying them, supporting and encouraging data and resource to colleagues, expressing creative idea whenever receiving a chance, planning and implementing for success with new idea, having new idea and using innovation to manage work, managing problems from work with creativity, employee will find new way when having problem from work, and recommending the new way to the center for acknowledgment. In conclusion, transformational leadership positively influences on employee creativity in automotive parts industry.
