Abstract:
This research had the objectives to study 1) the level of transformational leadership of administrators in schools under the auspices of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration; 2) the level of effectiveness of educational institutions under the jurisdiction of Bangkok Metropolitan; 3) transformational leadership of administrators affecting the effectiveness of schools under the auspices of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Using Krejcie and Morgan sampling technique at 95% confidence level, 205 out of 437 schools were selected and then stratified by sizes. The study utilized questionnaires and the data was analyzed using Percentage (%), Mean (X̄), Standard Deviation (S.D.), Pearson Product Moment Correlation, and Simple Regression Analysis.
Results of the study were as followings:
1) Level of transformational leadership of administrators was at a high level in overall and in each aspect. It was also found that idealized influence or charismatic leadership was at the highest level while inspirational motivation was at the lowest level;
2) Level of effectiveness of schools was at a high level with solving schools problems at the highest level and developing positive attitude for the students at the lowest level;
3) Relationship between transformational leadership of administrators and the effectiveness of educational institutions was found to be positive with an average correlational coefficient of .857 at .05 statistically significant;
4) With regards to the analysis of relationship between transformational leadership of administrators and the effectiveness of educational institutions, it was found that individualized consideration has the highest regression coefficient (ß = .344).
