Abstract:
The company case study desires to expand the production line which inevitably increase the costs. The purpose of this study are to design plant layout in order to reduce cost of material transferred between workstations and improve material flow to be efficient by reducing distance, Cycle time and eliminating waste. Principles of systematic layout planning and Auto cad simulation were applied with consideration of relationship between workstations, process flow and principle of ergonomics. The Indicators are distance between workstations and cycle time. The result showed that the distance of material transferred in the Pre-manufacturing line of the new plant design decrease by 40.46 percent, which could reduce production cycle time. The result of this improvement could increase productivity by 10.72 percent and reduce direct labor cost by 317,250 baht/year.
