Abstract:
The objectives of the research, Learning Management by Using Tales to Develop Thai Reading Abilities of Grade 1 Students were to 1) study students achievement before and after learning by using tales to develop Thai reading abilities with efficiency criteria at 80/80 2) to compare the efficiency of learning Thai reading abilities before and after learning by using tales to develop Thai reading abilities with statistical significance at the 0.1 level and 3) to survey students satisfaction with learning reading abilities by using tales to develop Thai reading abilities. The samples were 35 Prathomsuksa 1/2 students selected by cluster random sampling. The research instruments are as follows: 1) four tale books for developing Thai reading abilities 2) four lesson plans 3) a 20-item achievement test to develop Thai reading abilities, and 4) the questionnaire surveying students satisfaction when learning by using tales to develop Thai reading abilities. The data were collected for four weeks. The statistics used to analyze the data and students satisfaction were Mean, Standard Deviation (S.D.), and Dependent Samples t-test.
The findings revealed that 1) the efficiency of learning Thai reading abilities before and after learning by using tales showed that the student's post-test mean was significantly higher than that of the pre-test score at the level of .01. 2) the results of students reading achievement after leaning by using tales to develop Thai reading abilities showed Thai reading abilities of Grade 1 students (E1/E2) were 81.85/87.57 which were higher than the set criteria 80/80, 3) the students were very satisfied with learning through using tales to develop Thai reading abilities
