Media exposure, attitude, and risk prevention behaviors of elderly people towards the situation of the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection
Abstract:
The objectives of this research aimed 1. to study the media exposure, attitude, and risk prevention behaviors of elderly people towards the situation of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19 ) infection; 2. to compare the demographics towards the media exposure of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection situation; and 3 . to study the relationships between the media exposure, attitude, and risk prevention behaviors of elderly people towards the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19 ) infection situation. The samples were 4 20 elderly participants selected from Ang Thong province, Sing Buri province, and Chai Nat province by using the Non-Probability sampling and the Purposive sampling methodology. This was a quantitative method. The data were collected by using questionnaires with a
reliability at 0.91. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as
Independent t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Pearsons product moment correlation
coefficient with the statistically significant at 0.05.
The results revealed that
1. The participants opened the media exposure of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection situation at the moderate level, while the attitude and the behaviors towards the risk prevention of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection situation at the high level.
2. The different gender and the media exposure of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection situation were found no significance different, while the different educational level and different income affected the media exposure of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection situation with a statistically significance difference.
3. The relationships between the media exposure, attitude, and risk prevention behaviors of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection situation had the positive result.
