Abstract:
The objective of this study is to research on the perception of the students in Faculty of Sport Science, Burapha University towards the procedure of holistic student development and to compare individual factors affecting the perception of the students in Faculty of Sport Science, Burapha University towards the procedure of holistic student development. This study was conducted as a quantitative survey research. The sample group of this research consisted of 264 students in Faculty of Sport Science, Burapha University in 2019, selected through the Nonprobability Sampling, aka the Quota Sampling method. The samples were divided by academic years, departments, and sex. The data has been collected through accidental sampling until the determined amount is reached. The research instrument is questionnaire. The received data was analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and was compared between Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis Tests using non-parametric statistics. The result of the research is as follows:
1. The study shows that the perception of the students in Faculty of Sport Science, Burapha University towards the procedure of holistic student development is considerably high with the mean score of 3.83, with all 4 sub-categories scored within high level. The scores in descending order are as follows: Student Engagement with 3.89 mean score, Institutional Culture with 3.83 mean score, Student Learning with 3.83 mean score, and Institutional Leadership with 3.75 mean score.
2. The comparison between individual factors affecting the perception of the students in Faculty of Sport Science, Burapha University towards the procedure of holistic student development shows that when categorized by sex, age, and years, the perception of students towards the procedure of holistic student development remains the same. Yet, when categorized by departments, the perception of students towards the procedure of holistic student development would have 0.5 statistically significant difference.
