States of implementation of the internal quality assurance of the early childhood development centers under the local administrative organizations of Mukdahan province
Abstract:
The research aimed 1) to study the implementation of the internal quality assurance of the early childhood development centers under the local administrative organizations of Mukdahan province, 2) to compare the implementation of the internal quality assurance of the centers under study according to status, size and educational levels and 3) to explore the recommendations on the implementation of the internal quality assurance. The samples used in the research were teachers, child-caring takers and assistant teachers numbering 461. They were all derived by a simple random sampling. The research instrument was a five-rating scale questionnaire of a total confidence value equivalent to .98. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, means, standard deviation, t-test, F-test and Scheffes paired test.
The research findings were as follows.
1. The implementation of the internal quality assurance of the early childhood development centers as perceived by teachers, child-caring takers and assistant teachers was found to be at a high level.
2. Considering a comparison of the states of implementation of the internal quality assurance of the centers in the study as classified by status and the size of the centers, there was no difference found.
3. Concerning the recommendations on the internal quality assurance, a proper plan should be made for the operation, implementation, assessment and evaluation and improvement based on the acquired results. Information system for the internal quality assurance of the early childhood development centers should be standardized according to the indicators and criteria of the Office of the Basic Education Commission and the Office of the Education Accreditation and Evaluation. The centers under the local administrative organizaitions should undertake the internal quality assurance in a proper and correct way. The network should be set up between the different centers in order to share knowledge and information, and improve and develop the centers. More attention should be focused more on learners quality, educational quality, holistic learning, and identity.
