Abstract:
The purpose of this research used multiple intelligence approach to develop a teaching braille consonants program. The 16 blind preschoolers selected by researcherrules. Eight blind preschoolers from Nakomratchasima Blind School was the experiment group and 8 preschoolers from Konkaeng Blind School was control group. The method of study consisted of 4 phases namely, studying preliminary information, constructing the program, field testing and revising the program. The duration of field testing was 14 weeks, 2 weeks for pre-testing, 10 week for teaching 28 braille consonants used multiple intelligence activities and 2 week for post-testing. The pretesting and post-testing were measured writing and reading braille consonants skills for blind preschoolers constructed by the researcher. The research results were as follows : 1) Before used a program, the scores on writing and reading braille consonants skills were significantly similar between the experimental group and control group at .01 level. 2) After used a program, the scores on writing and reading braille consonants skills of the experimental group were significantly higher than control group at 0.1 level 3) In experimental group, the scores on writing and reading braille consonants skills after used program were significantly higher before used program at .01 level. 4) In Control group, the scores on writing and reading braille consonants skills after used program were significantly higher than before used program at .01 level. The revised teaching braille consonants program was the guideline for organizing integrated in teaching braille consonants classroom. The content of program consisted of underline theoretical approach, principles, objective, roles and responsibilities of the program user and the students, program structure and features and program materials which were 1) Teachers handbook for implement the program 2) Activities Plan : 10 unit 3) Tools of program ; Dancing mapping, Model of braille dot stick and keybord or piano 4) Tools of instructional evaluation ;a form for evaluating writing and reading braille consonants skills, a file for collecting evidences of instructional activities and products of each individual student.
