Abstract:
This quantitative research is to study the influencing of Facebook usage for information on political participation. The researcher developed 34 items of a questionnaire and collected from 397 respondents of the people over 18 years in Ubonratchathanee, Srisaket, Surin and Buri Ram province. The statistical analysis are frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, variance analysis (t-test, F-test) and MANOVA. The results present that most respondents are male with 56.2%, 19-25 years of age. Facebook usage behavior in following political information contributed 49.6% and 30.5% still followed traditional media such as newspaper, television and radio. Furthermore, Facebook usage behavior of most respondents are also following all making to understand political news at low level. 50.1% of the respondents voted in 2020 election and 58.9% of the respondents are expecting to vote in the next election. The conclusion of this research contributes that the perception of political news impacted on political interest, political knowledge, political discussion, political participation and next election voting statistically significant at .05. It can be concluded that people income could impact on Facebook usage for information in which influences continuously on political participation and voting
