Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to 1) study the lacquer products from the production source of Wat Nuntharam community, Chiang Mai province, 2) design Lamp set as home decoration products by using lacquer technique and 3) evaluate customers satisfaction with the new lacquered home decoration products. Sample used in this research was 3 lacquer producers from Wat Nuntharam community, Chiang Mai Province, 5 experts in product design and lacquer work and 100 customers who bought the new lacquered home decoration products. The instruments used in this research were interview form assessment form with product draft and questionnaire with prototype image. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistic; percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results of the research: 1) the study of lacquer products from production sources of Wat Nuntharam community found that the materials used in the production were 2 types: bamboo (Dendrocalamus hamiltonii) and wood. Tools and equipments used still use the traditional method: forming by using weaving and turning. The shapes of the product are the spherical, cylindrical and square. There are 4 techniques in pattern creation but the most common pattern is a local pattern. And most of lacquer products are utensil, home decoration and accessories, 2) the product design found that second lamp set was the most satisfied (x̄ = 4.36, S.D. = 1.09), 3) the customers satisfaction with the new lacquered home decoration products found that customers were satisfied with ceiling lamp set product : Geometry Shape (x̄ = 4.30, S.D. = 0.06), wall lamp set (x̄ = 4.38, S.D. = 2.01) and table lamp set (x̄ = 4.25, S.D. = 0.07)
