Abstract:
A study of level of Acacia mangium leaf meal (AMLM) in diets on growth efficiency of Nile Tilapia (Oreochomisniloticus) was cultured in 200-liter barrels Recirculating systems. The experiment was conducted in CRD consist of 5 treatments with 3 replications, 20 fish/tank. Fish with initial weight 0.65 g. Treatment was the level of AMLM in diets at 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10%, fed for 8 Weeks. The results shown that the chemical composition of AMLM consists of 13.55% moisture, 11.62 % crude protein, 2.99% crude fat, 25.92% crude fiber, 4.09% ash, 1.0% calcium, 0.04% phosphorus, 13.28% tannin and gross energy 5,200.29 kcal/kg respectively. The nutrient digestibility of AMLM shows that Fish fed with AMLM 7.5 and 10 % in the diet had apparent dry matter and crude fiber digestibility higher than other treatments (P<0.05). Then Fish fed with AMLM 2.5% in the diet had weight gain and specific growth rate is highest (P<0.05), but the feed efficiency, feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency, and survival rate were not different with other treatments (P>0.05).
