Abstract:
This study illustrated the application of passive gas sampler in Nitrogen Dioxide monitoring. The Nitrogen Dioxide personal exposure, indoor-outdoor and ambient concentration were measured in Bangkok and Nakornpratom province. The health effect of Nitrogen Dioxide was also studied using ATS-DLD 78 questionaires (Thai Version). The subject group was 50 Chulalongkorn University students and comparative group was 15 Mahidol University,Salaya campus students. The association between Nitrogen Dioxide concentration and respiratory symptom are significant by different. เท subject group, average Nitrogen Dioxide for 24 hours exposure was 31.86±16.75 ppb and was related to outdoor exposure (P<0.05; R=0.860 outdoor exposure). In comparative group, average Nitrogen Dioxide for 24 hours exposure was 4.95.1.93 ppb. The measurement of indoor and outdoor Nitrogen Dioxide concentration in Bangkok was 14.68±9.26 ppb and 21.40±16.62 ppb, respectively and significant correlation was found between indoor and outdoor (P<0.05; R=0.532). In contrast, the measurement at Nakornpratom province were 3.83±1.73 ppb and 5.34±2.14 ppb, respectively. The result of Nitrogen Dioxide concentration at Chulalongkorn University and Mahidol University were significant difference (P<0.05) of which at Chulalongkorn University was 21.47±5.35 and Mahidol University was 5.58±0.31 ppb.
