Effects of Learning Management on Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division of Fraction by Using Open Approach Together with Cooperative Learning TAI Techniques towards Learning Achievement and Analytical Thinking Abilities of Prathomsuksa 5 Students
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were: 1) to compare students' learning achievement between before and after learning by using learning management on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions by using Open Approach together with Cooperative Learning TAI techniques for Prathomsuksa 5 students ; 2) to compare the analytical thinking abilities of students before and after learning by using learning management on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions by using Open Approach together with Cooperative Learning TAI techniques for Prathomsuksa 5 students; and 3) to study the satisfaction of students towards learning management on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions by using Open Approach together with Cooperative Learning TAI techniques for Prathomsuksa 5 students. The sample of the study consisted of 30 Prathomsuksa 5/1 students of Saimitnongbunmak School, Banmai Subdistrict, Nongbunmak District, Nakhonratchasima Province under Office of Nakhon Ratchasima Private Education Commission Service Area 2, obtained by using cluster random sampling technique.
The research instruments included 15 lesson plans on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions by using Open Approach together with Cooperative Learning TAI technique;
a 30-item 4 multiple choice learning achievement test on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions with discrimination ranging from 0.20 to 0.47, with difficulty from 0.60 to 0.80 and the reliability of 0.91; a 30 - item 4-multiple choice analytical thinking abilities test on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions with Discrimination ranging from 0.20 to 0.47, a difficulty from 0.63 to 0.80, and a reliability of 0.91, and a 10-item 5-rating scale questionnaire. The statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean and standard deviation. The hypotheses were tested by t-test (Dependent Samples). The findings were as follows:
1. The students' learning achievement after learning by using learning management on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions by using Open Approach together with Cooperative Learning TAI techniques for Prathomsuksa 5 students was higher than those before learning with significant difference at the level of .05.
2. The analytical thinking abilities of students after learning by using learning management on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions by using Open Approach together with Cooperative Learning TAI techniques for Prathomsuksa 5 students was higher than those before learning with significant difference at the level of .05.
3. The satisfaction of students towards learning management on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions by using Open Approach together with Cooperative Learning TAI techniques for Prathomsuksa 5 students as a whole was at the highest level.
