Abstract:
The objective of this practice-led research is to develop educational innovation of the Khom Thai
script, which is a national cultural heritage by using cutting-edge design technology. Research tools included
design tools, score tests, and questionnaires. An Android application was developed to create threedimensional images and a Khom Thai copybook, which is used in conjunction with the application. As for
the statistics, an alphabet pairing test was used to measure learning comprehension and a satisfaction
questionnaire with 30 participants. The control group was 15 subjects and the experimental group was 15
subjects. The statistical analysis was a descriptive method which used the mean, percentage, and standard
deviation as the evaluation. The subjects were chosen by the specific method of the population. The
average ranged between 18-21 years old. The control group used a normal learning method using a
copybook while the experimental group used the AR application. The results showed that the experimental 451
group had a higher mean score in the correct letter matching test than the control group. The satisfaction
questionnaire was rated high in every aspect which indicates that the participants were satisfied with the
media. These results suggest possibilities that augmented reality may help the subjects learn Khom Thai
better.
