Abstract:
This quantitative research aimed to 1) study Indian tourists demand for tourism businesses in Chiang Mai and 2) offer guidance for tourism business operators to accommodate Indian tourists in Chiang Mai. The result showed that most of the Indian tourists are Hindu males aged between 31-40 years old. Their degrees of the study were graduate and they are Business entrepreneurs, their incomes were more than 100,001 rupees per month. The main purpose of visiting Chiang Mai was to take a trip with friends and it was the first time traveling. They chose to come to Chiangmai because they were interested in cultural tourism. They received the tourism information of Chiangmai via an online media website. They have appreciated the trip very much and mentioned their revisiting next time. Furthermore, the survey results showed that Indian tourists needed to stay in their residents during the trip safely and the reliability of tour operators and tour guides (𝑥̅ = 4.45 and 𝑥̅ = 4.38). They also required a reasonable price of transportation with the average scores of 4.26 (𝑥̅ = 4.26), and its hygienic place of the restaurant with the average scores of 4.49 (𝑥̅ = 4.49) and so does a good quality souvenir at the average scores of 4.18 (𝑥̅ = 4.18).
