Marketing communication strategy development guidelines for community radio station the Thai local radio Phrasat Prasarnjai FM 89.25 MHz In Prasat distric, Surin Province
Abstract:
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study marketing communication strategies of the community radio station The Thai Local Radio Prasatprasarnjai FM 89.25 MHz in Prasat district, Surin province; 2) to compare opinions on marketing communication strategies classified by gender, age, education level, and occupation; and 3) to provide marketing communication strategies development guidelines for The Thai Local Radio Prasatprasarnjai FM 89.25 MHz. The marketing communication strategies in this study are classified into 5 aspects including advertising, personal selling, sale promotion, publicity and public relations, and direct marketing.
The study found that:
The overall opinion on the marketing communication strategies is at a moderate level. When comparing opinions on marketing communication strategies, it was found that there is no statistically significant difference opinion (P> 0.05) on marketing communication strategies classified by gender. In term of the marketing communication strategies classified by age, the study showed that there is statistically significant difference opinion (P< 0.05) about marketing communication strategies in advertising. Further, the study also revealed that there is no statistically significant difference opinion (P> 0.05) on the marketing communication strategies in terms of personal selling, sale promotion, publicity and public relations, and direct marketing. Owing to opinions regarding marketing communication strategies classified by educational level, the study found that there is no statistically significant difference opinion (P> 0.05) about the communication strategy. Additionally, the study also revealed that there is no statistically significant difference opinion (P> 0.05) regarding marketing communication strategies classified by occupation. Moreover, the result of focused-group discussion shows that the Thai Local Radio Prasatprasarnjai FM 89.25 MHz should focus on image promotion, technology and program content, and radio disc jockey which are in accord with the marketing communication strategies in terms of personal selling, sale promotion, and publicity and public relations.
