Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study problems and needs of Khon Kaen University students and to compare between student sex, class levels and fields of study and to study relationships between their problems and their needs. The results of this study indicated that most students had problems in the areas of adjustment to college work, student dormitories and campus climate, and university administration. Some students had problems in the areas of personality, morals and religion, curriculum, teaching and teacher relations, and student activities. In comparing the student problems, it was found that the male students had more problems in the areas of finance, morals and religion, student activities and student dormitories and campus climate. The female students had more problems in the areas of health and personality. The students who were in different class levels had different problems in the areas of personality, friends and social relations, morals and religion and university administration. Students who were in different fields of study had different problems in the areas of curriculum, teaching and teacher relations, student activities, student dormitories and campus climate, and university administration. According to the student needs, it was found that students mainly needed in every levels and in every areas. In comparing the male students needed more in the areas of finance and university administration. Students in different class levels were similar in their needs in every areas. Students in different fields of study showed different in their needs in the areas of curriculum, teaching and teacher relations, student activities, and university administration. The problems and needs were positively related the degree of less to moderate level.
