Abstract:
To enhance personal confidence and create better appearance and good personality, facial make up is necessary. To get the right color make up that match to individual facial skin tone, consumers have to try the tester on their real face before considering to purchase. The objectives of this research are to create the innovative virtual make up application and to study the consumer usage response after applying this application which is designed to test the makeup on computer screen which can reduce the risk of infection from mutually using the product testers. The approach to develop this innovation consists of eight steps. (1) Product Planning: This step focuses on the appropriate marketing planning by segmentation, defining target and positioning. (2) Identify customers need: this step working on collecting and studying customer requirements by using 131 questionnaires in this survey. (3) Establish target specification: the step to convert requirement to technical specifications based on Quality Function Deployment (QFD) technique. (4) Idea Generation: generating idea based on value engineering techniques to come up with 27 new ideas. (5) Idea Screening and selection: Selecting idea based on Pugh Matrix and Weight sum method techniques. (6) Product design: designing the working process of prototype in terms of system design and development (7) Develop Prototype: creating the prototype of Virtual Make Up Application which consumer can test the product concept and usage. (8) Product testing and Consumer response survey: testing the function and study the consumers responses towards using the innovation. The feasibility for finance indicates to commercialize this innovation is possibly successful. Based on the project risk assessment using NPV and IRR methods. The result of NPV at 25,304,571.92 THB and IRR at 91.42%. This project is for 5 years and set growth at 20% of each year. The financial assessment concluded the break-even point within the 2nd year of initial investment of 7,325,000 THB.
