Abstract:
The purpose of this study was three fold. First, it aimed at examining the perception
of organizational culture among employees working for Ashimori (Thailand) Co. Ltd. Also, this
study intended to investigate a level of expectation among these employees. The third purpose
was to compare these employees level of perception of organizational culture as classified by
their age, educational level, marital status, and work length in the organization. The subjects
participating in this study were 274 employees working for a production section of Ashimori
(Thailand) Co. Ltd. These subjects were recruited by a stratified random sampling technique with
an equal proportion and a simple random sampling technique. The instrument of this study was a
questionnaire with high reliability. The statistical tests used to analyze the collected data included
percentage, mean, standard deviation, and a test of One-way ANOVA,
The results of this study revealed that, firstly, the level of perception of
organizational culture among the subjects was at a high level (mean = 3.44). In particular, the
achievement culture was perceived at the highest level (mean = 3.67), followed by perceived of
bureaucratic culture (mean = 3.56), clan culture (mean = 3.43) and adaptability culture (mean =
3.09), respectively. Also, the employees level of expectation of organizational culture was found
at the highest level (mean = 4.23). Specifically, the subjects expressed their expectation of
achievement culture at the highest level (mean = 4.31), followed by the expectation of clan
culture (mean = 4.30), bureaucratic culture (mean = 4.23), and adaptability culture (mean = 4.08),
respectively. Thirdly, it was found that there were no statistically significant differences in the
level of perception of organizational culture among the subjects with different age, educational
level, and marital status at a significant level of .05. Finally, there were statistically significant
differences in the level of perception of organizational culture among the subjects with different length of work in the organization at a significant level of .05. In other words, the employees with
work length of 6-10 years had a higher perception of organizational culture than those with work
length of 11-15 years.
