Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine a level of public participation in the
administration of Tha Kham Sub-district Administrative Organization, Amphoe Phanat Nikhom, Chon
Buri Province. Also, this study intended to compare the level of public participation in the
administration of Tha Kham Sub-district Administrative Organization as classified by personal factors,
including gender, age, marital status, educational level, occupation, net amount of income, and length of
residency in the community. This is a qualitative study that used a questionnaire, completed by 350
people.
The results of the study revealed that the level of public participation in the administration
of Tha Kham Sub-district Administrative Organization,in Amphoe Phanat Nikhom,Chon Buri Province
was at a moderate level (mean = 2.33). When considering each aspect of participation, the subjects
participated at the highest level in being co-receivers of benefits (mean = 2.44), followed by the aspect
of implementation (mean = 2.33), and decision-making (mean = 2.21), respectively. Also, it was found
that the subjects participated at the lowest level in following-up and evaluation (mean = 2.11).In
addition, based on the results from the comparisons, there were statistically significant differences in the
level of public participation among the subjects with different age, marital status, educational level,
occupation, net amount of income, and length of residency in the community at a significant level at .05.
Finally, there was no statistically significant difference in the level of participation among the subjects
who had different gender.
