Feeder allocation using customer priority FLISR algorithm for multi-tie ring distribution feeder
Abstract:
For the past decade, distribution automation system improves quality and reliability of distribution system. However, feeder allocation and outage area minimizing have been pursued as the goals of an optimization problem on distribution system. The traditional feeder allocation has a large number of customers being interrupted (CI). This study proposes a new feeder allocation algorithm using customer priority for reducing CI. The proposed algorithm will detect and isolated the faulty section of the feeder by optimizing CI and feeder capability as Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration (FLISR). Moreover, it will perform service restoration to minimize outage area. The proposed algorithm implemented and simulated on power system distribution network of Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). PEA has implemented the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and the Distribution Management System (DMS) technologies in its central distribution system for remote distribution control. FLISR is a one function of DMS. The results manifested significant numbers of CI compared with traditional FLISR. Besides, the proposed algorithm also optimized power consumption of each feeder by using customer priority level
