Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to synthesize factors, develop indicators and propose moral identity indicators of moral hospitals to administrators in hospitals under the Royal Thai Army. This qualitative research was conducted in 3 steps which were synthesizing factors, developing indicators, and proposing moral identify indicators to administrators in hospitals under the Royal Thai Army. The population of this research was personnel in 37 moral hospitals under the Royal Thai Army. The sample selected by purposive sampling was 38 personnel in 21 moral hospitals that had been qualified as a moral hospital in 2017 and 2018 fiscal years and their moral-hospital documents were recorded in the database of the Army Medical Department. The sample included 5 administrators who had been in positions in moral hospitals for at least 2 years, 29 moral-hospital committee members and 3 people who were experienced in military ethics. The instruments used were a semi-structured interview and a questionnaire. The median, interquartile range, and note taking were the parameters used for statistical analysis. The results revealed that hospital morality indicators consisted of 9 factors with 54 indicators. The factors included honesty (6 indicators), responsibility (6 indicators), discipline (5 indicators), volunteer spirit (5 indicators), sufficiency (7 indicators), sacrifice (7 indicators), generosity (7 indicators), service mind (6 indicators) and unity (5 indicators). The appropriateness and possibility of all factors were at a high to the highest level. In addition, the indicators were proposed to the administrators in 26 hospitals under the Royal Thai Army.
