Abstract:
This study was a survey research with the objective of studying the organizational commitment of the personnel in Bangnamprieo Hospital, Chachoengsao Province, Ministry of Public Health. The studied population was 117. personnel working in the hospital for a period of not less than six months. The sample was composed of civil servants, permanent employees, government employees and casual workers. Data was collected using questionnaires. Statistics used for data analysis were descriptive statistics; percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, Pearson's Product Moment Coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The study found that the organizational commitment and the overall job satisfaction of the personnel were at a high level of x = 3.79, S.D. = 0.69 and x = 3.60, S.D. = 0.72. Age, working experience and income had association with organizational commitment at a statistical significance of p-value < 0.001. Job satisfaction, in the aspect of motivation as a factor, had positive association with organizational commitment at a statistical significance of r = 0.72, p < 0.001. It was also found that job satisfaction, in the aspect of maintenance factors, had positively medium association with organizational commitment with a statistical significance of r=0.70,p- value< 0.001 and that maintenance factors in regard to security and work safety, career growth , job success and relationship with the supervisor had co-predictivity value for organizational commitment of 65.9% ( R = 0.659) Research recommendations were; the administration should advocate for the policy of safety for the personnel so that the personnel could have confidence in their safety in the workplace. The personnel should be provided with security at work. The supervisor should be helpful, generous, sympathetic and caring for the welfare of their supervisees. The supervisor should also hold to the principle of (working) justice which would help boost the organizational commitment of the personnel.
