The development of a control system of the movement of an agricultural use-orientated crane
Abstract:
This research is the study and development of the control system of an electrical, automatic crane
specifically designed for agricultural usage. The key component is the use of proportional-integral-derivative
controller (PID controller) to input signals into the direct circuit motors (DC motor) attached to the base of
the crane on both sides. An encoder is also fixed on each side of the crane in order to measure the real-time
displacement. Without a feedback controller, the initial results have shown that the movement of these two
sets of motors have errors, which causes the crane to be unable to move to its desired position which can
pose potential dangers when used in real life. Thus, this journal experiments with the usage of error or
deviation reduction with PID controller by using different methods of feedback signals to solve this problem.
From this experiment, the data suggests that the deviation between the motors on each side has been
reduced and the crane is able to move to its target position when the mean feedback signal is used.
