Abstract:
This research aimed to study: 1) the characteristics of administrators of the child development centers under the Subdistrict Administration Organization in Nakhon Nayok province, and 2) the guidelines for developing the characteristics of administrators of the child development centers under the Subdistrict Administration Organization in Nakhon Nayok province.
The population consisted of 196 teachers of the child development centers under the Subdistrict Administration Organization in Nakhon Nayok province in the academic year 2019. In addition, the key informants included eight school administrators. The research instruments used for collecting data were questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed using percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.
The study results revealed that 1) the characteristics of administrators of the child development centers under the Subdistrict Administration Organization in Nakhon Nayok province, as a whole, was at a high level. 2) The guidelines for developing the characteristics of administrators of the child development centers under the Subdistrict Administration Organization in Nakhon Nayok province included seven dimensions. First, the intellectual ability: the administrators should have creative skills in policymaking and planning, with the knowledge and the competency for analyzing data. Second, the ability to work efficiently: the administrators should be able to appropriately implement theory into practice for each situation in order to maximize the benefits. Third, the ability to motive others: the administrators should create staffs motivation and encourage them to use their knowledge and competencies at work. Fourth, the ability to work with others: the administrators should provide equity in the workplace, be reasonable and open-minded in management, and give staffs valuable suggestions. Fifth, the decision-making ability: the administrators should implement the appropriate decision-making process to solve school problems. Sixth, the ability in creating a pleasant personality and having leadership skills: the administrators should be polite, humble, and not be overpowering. They should have appropriate manners for the occasions. Finally, an ability to reinforce responsible behaviors of themselves and others: school administrators should respect others opinions, responsible for their own actions and be ready to revise.
