Analysis of catalyst site type for Ziegler-Natta catalyst series using MWD and CCD deconvolution methods
Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to develop the automatic deconvolution programming to predict the behavior of weight distribution for each active site type and to analyze the results from deconvolution method. The data from six polymer samples produced from two types of catalyst were collected by using Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) for MWD and Temperature Rising Elution Fractionation (TREF) for CCD. In order to develop, predict and analyze the weight distributions producing from these two catalysts, the three deconvolution techniques were developed and used as a tool in order to predict the number of site types and behavior of weight distribution at each active site type of catalyst. Finally, results from deconvolution of all MWD, CCD and MWD/CCD were compared and the type of catalyst of polymer was identified
