Abstract:
This research provides an algorithm for finding the position and rotation of the objects which know
size and have straight edges in three-dimensional spaces. The system has to obtain data from the
objects of interest and structure of the objects must be made up of a straight line segment. The
process is divided into three parts. First, part of image acquisition and image processing which are
used to detect the lines. In this part, take the image and send the acquired image to image perprocessing
in order to improve the image in the preliminary. And then, the images are sent to the
line detection process. Second, describe about the preparation of three-dimensional information of
objects to be used in the search. The format of the model data used in this research is the IGES that
the data in this format have the details of an object more than necessary. So, in this part will be
selected and provided only the information needed for processing. Finally, study of the search of
position and rotation of the objects. The search algorithm is divided into two steps consist of an
initial search, which showed the position and rotation of the objects by approximately as the result,
and then exhaustively perform a final search.
