Abstract:
The purpose of this study was twofold. First, it aimed at examining the needs of
public service and welfare among a group of people who were becoming aging people and living
in the area of Nongree Sub-district, Amphoe Mueang, Chon Buri Province. Also, this study
intended to compare a level of needs of public service and welfare among these people as
classified by personal factors. The data were collected by using a questionnaire, completed by 338
people. The statistical tests used to analyze the collected data included mean, frequency,
percentage, One-way ANOVA. To test the differences between pairs, the test of LSD was
administered with a level of confidence at 95% and error value at .05.
The results of the study revealed that the subjects demonstrated a high level of
needs of public service and welfare. The aspect of needs in relation to public service was rated at
the highest level, followed by the ones relating to health and hygiene, life safety, economy, and
accommodation, respectively, In addition, based on the results from the comparisons for the needs
of public service and welfare as classified by gender, age, occupation, average monthly income,
monthly expenses, and numbers of family members, it was shown that there were no differences
in the level of needs of public service and welfare among people having different gender, age,
occupation, monthly expense, and number of family members, Finally, statistically significant
differences were found in the level of needs of public service and welfare among people with
different occupation and monthly income at a significant level of .05.
