Abstract:
The objective of this research was to compare the average scores of scientifc leaming outcomes and the average scores of science problem solving between the experimental group and the control group.The population were 98 students who were in Grade 7 students of Pracharatthummakun School, Lampang.The samples were selected by cluster sampling. There were 66 students from two classes divided into 33 students being in the experimental group and 33 students being in the control group. The experimental instruments were the teaching models consisting of the teaching model using problem-based learning integrated with cognitive training and the conventional teaching model. The research instruments for collecting data were 1) the scientific achievement test; 2) the attitude toward science questionnaire; 3) the science process skills test; and 4) the science problem solving test. The statistics using to analyze the data were mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, maximum, minimum, skewness, kurtosis and the analysis of One-way MANOVA. analysis of One-way ANOVA. The result of this research found that 1) The average scores of scientific learning outcomes composing of scientific achievement, attitude toward science, science process skills of students taught by problem-based learning integrated with cognitive training were higher than the students taught by the conventional teaching model significantly different at the statistical level of 0.05. 2) The average scores of science problem solving of students taught by problem-based learning integrated with cognitive training were higher than the students taught by the conventional teaching model significantly different at the statistical level of 0.05
