Abstract:
The research is entitled, The mode of entry strategies for Thai multinational
enterprises to investing hotel business in Yangon, Myanmar This is exploratory
research which utilized multiphase mixed methodology in three phases, The first
phase utilized the qualitative approach by a semi-structured interview, the second
phase utilized the qualitative approach by search conference technique, and the third
phase utilized the quantitative approach by the questionnaire with 200 investors in
Myanmar as respondents in Myanmar, and analyzed with the PLS-SEM.
The results found that; Concern to Industrial Environment factors has a
positive relationship with both and the entry mode strategy; Expected Benefit has a
positive relationship with both preparation and the entry mode strategy; Constraint
has a negative relationship with both preparation and the entry mode strategy; Criteria
to select a firm has a positive relationship with the entry mode strategy; and
Preparation has a negative relationship with the entry mode strategy. The mode of
entry strategies to invest in Myanmar is the Greenfield and Joint venture that will
possibly succeed in the future. In addition, Greenfield can consider factors for
investment, which include Concern to Industrial Environment, Concern to Industrial
Environment, and Criteria to select a firm which considers criteria to select a firm and
expected benefit through preparation. Joint Venture can consider factors for
investment, which include; concern to industrial environment, expected benefit, and
criteria to select a firm.
