Supervision and Monitoring Guidelines Knowledge management for Professional learning community (PLC) via Electronic Communication System of assistant teachers at Primary Educational service area 2 in Chanthaburi
Abstract:
This research aimed 1) to find a way to supervise and follow-up for professional learning community management (PLC) through electronic communication of assistant teachers, and 2) to determine the guidelines for supervision and follow-up for professional learning community management (PLC) through electronic communication of assistant teachers. The sample group used in this study was the 177 assistant teachers in 67 schools of 6 districts under Chanthaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, selected specifically. The research instruments were 1) the questionnaires for determining the guidelines for supervision and follow-up for professional learning community management through electronic communication and for supervisory development for monitoring professional learning community through electronic communications by using the Google Classroom program as a system to build a professional community 2) the satisfaction questionnaire for assessment the teachers opinions toward the supervision guidelines. A 5-level rating scale questionnaire was applied for data collecting and statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation (S.D.). The study findings revealed as follows: the respondents were 56.5% female and 43.5% male. Overall, the respondents need supervision in all three aspects that consisted of the following: 1) cooperative supervision, 2) information technology and 3) professional learning community. Regarding to cooperative supervision, the study showed the highest satisfaction level in cooperative supervision from exchanging alternatives to solve problems, Learning by exchanging knowledge and experience, giving suggestions, creating methods to stimulate, encourage, accept conflicts, compromise, and the exchange of information and make a settlement agreement. As for the need for guidance, listening and understanding that problem was at a high level. Besides that, the satisfaction of information technology was at the highest level, resulting in working faster, reducing time and budget spent on management. As for the information system for convenience in tracking, it showed a high level of satisfaction. Regarding to the vocational learning community, the highest level of the satisfaction involved cooperative teamwork, learning and professional learning and development, caring community, happiness, social connection (not living alone), shared vision and shared leadership. The results showed that the assistant teachers opinions toward the guidelines for supervision and follow-up for professional learning community management (PLC) through electronic communication were at the highest level of satisfaction of all items.
