Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the public perception of the readiness of Laem
Chabang Municipality in supporting the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Plan (EEC) and to
compare the perception ofpeople towards the readiness of Laem Chabang Municipality to support the
Eastern Economic Corridor Development Plan(EEC). These were classified by personal factors such as
gender, age, education level, marital status, occupation, average income per month and residence time.
400 people in the Laem Chabang Municipality area were the sample group of this research. Data were
analyzed by statistical software program. Frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were
used. For hypothesis testing, the t-test and the statistical analysis of one-way (ANOVA) by determining
the statistical significance level at 0.05 were used.
The results of the research were as follows: 1.Most people in Laem Chabang Municipality
who respond the survey had public perception of the readiness of Laem Chabang Municipality in
supporting the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Plan (EEC). When each aspect was considered,
it was found that the two level highest aspects were resource management services (x̅= 4.35) and the
participation of the public sector (x̅= 4.33). At the medium level, four aspects: knowledge in planning
(x̅= 3.39) infrastructure development (x̅= 3.37) on the perception of policy (x̅= 3.35) and
management (x̅= 3.21) respectively. 2. The hypothesis testing found that people in the Laem Chabang
Municipality with same sex, same education level, same marital status, same occupation, same average
income per month, and same residence time had no significant difference in public perception of the
readiness of Laem Chabang Municipality in supporting the Eastern Economic Corridor Development
Plan (EEC) at 0.5. This denies the research hypothesis. But when it was considered, it found that
personal factors (age, occupation, monthly income, residence time) significantly affect different on
income management resources at the statistical level of .05, accepting the research hypothesis.
