Macrofungal substrate diversity and new species of macrofungi in the greater mekong subregion
Abstract:
Macrofungi play critical roles in forest ecosystems. Owing to their rich biodiversity and enormous biomasses, they have important and diverse ecological functions. Many can be found in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), a region home to many disparate forest resources spread over a large geographical area. Due to geographical and climatic diversity, there is significant variation in the composition of forest vegetation. This variation exerts different effects on present macrofungal substrates. Additionally, macrofungal substrate type affects its corresponding taxonomic communities. These macrofungal substrates have been overlooked in past research, and this study seeks to remedy the situation by offering new knowledge and insights on macrofungal substrate types....
