Abstract:
The study on the effect of bio extracts on the growth of green butterhead lettuce. The purpose of
the experiment was to study the effect of biological fermentation on the growth of green butterhead lettuce.
The experiment was designed using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments; using 1)
Bio- extract of milk formula 2) Bio-extract of fermented Azolla formula 3) Bio-extract of banana shoots 4) Bio-extract of cow dung formula and 5) Mixed bio-extract of milk formula, Azolla, banana shoot, cow dung,
respectively. Height, width, wet weight and dry weight of lettuce butter head were recorded in the end of
experiment (80 days). The growth results of green butterhead lettuce showed the high level in the Bio-extract
of milk formula were 11.97 centimeter and 16.26 centimeter in height and canopy width, respectively. Results
indicated that Height and canopy width were significantly different between groups (p<0.05). However, wet
weight and dry weight of green butterhead lettuce results in bio- extract of milk formula and bio-extract of
cow dung formula were similar (p>0.05). Whole results indicated that bio- extract of milk formula and bioe-xtract of cow dung formula could be used for increasing the growth of green butterhead lettuce.
