Abstract:
The aim of this study is to design and develop an augmented reality application for computer hardware learning in the integrated information technology course. The development processes were composed of the data assembly of computer hardwares and their functions, setting up learning map, designing and creating 3D learning materials, and finally the functional testing.The abilities of developed application were able to provide individual hardware information and to display a hologram of internal hardware, which consists of 2 sets of hardware accessories. There were power supplies, CD/DVD ROM, hard disk, graphic cards (VGA cards) and motherboard (mainboard) for set 1. Another set included USB cables, HDMI cables, PS2 cables, RAM, and CPU.
The assessment results (showed in mean values) of learning material efficiency by technical experts showed the high satisfaction on symbolic image (Marker) (4.44), 3D device model (4.42), AR Book design technique (4.33) and learning content (4.33). Additionally, the results of assessing student satisfaction appeared to be high in the 3D device model (4.25) and AR Book design (4.30). The given results have been confirm that learning application with augmented reality technology might influence efficiency of learning of students by motivating and interesting to themin the computer hardware contents.
