Abstract:
Prefabricated system is a widely-used construction technique for construction industry. This research is aimed to study the processes of building construction using prefabricated system. The case studies are the buildings under construction with prefabricated system. The data collection is carried out by site visits, observation and recording on the survey form. There are six main processes along the supply chain from the perspective of contractors including planning, design, production, transportation, installation and maintenance. This research summarized and presented descriptive statistics and the Unified Modeling Language (UML) for concise understanding about the use of prefabricated system in building construction. The results indicate that the panel system is popular for all building projects. Most projects outsource the prefabricated work to the precast provider who is responsible for most processes from design to maintenance. Nevertheless, it is argued that the main contractor should supervise such outsourced work more closely in order to control the work quality
